The ISL89164FBECZ-T is a member of the Intersil Gate Driver family of programmable motor-control gate drivers. This gate driver is designed to provide the output gate drive current required to drive a wide range of power semiconductors in a motor control system. The ISL89164FBECZ-T is ideal for medium voltage applications, and it features a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, making it suitable for harsh environments.
The output of this device can support logic level and higher voltage MOSFETs and IGBTs. The ISL89164FBECZ-T also provides gate protection against negative gate voltage and transient overvoltage conditions. This ensures that there is no excessive gate to source voltage allowing the device to become damaged or fail. In addition, the device incorporates a low-side current sense amplifier that provides the system with accurate current measurements.
