The ISL89165FRTAZ-T is a member of Intersil’s ISL8910xx series of integrated gate driver ICs and is designed for use in modern power electronic switches.

The ISL89165FRTAZ-T operates with a supply voltage of up to 15V, with a junction temperature up to 150°C. Internally an adjustable charge pump provides the supply voltages for the different functional blocks required for a proper gate drive. The high voltage switch can be driven directly from the ISL89165FRTAZ-T with a minimum RDSon current of 0.32A. With a fast turn-on/-off time of typically 0.25 µs, this driver is ideally suited for high-frequency applications.

The device contains an integrated low-side temperature sensor that is used for monitoring the temperature in the control device. The presence of a temperature signal generator in the IC itself allows the device to monitor its own temperature without the need for an external sensor.
