The loop consists of a voltage and current amplifier, a power supply controller IC, and a voltage transformer / rectifier. The voltage and current amplifiers measure the input and output voltages and current to the power supply. The power supply controller IC then compares these measurements, and sends a signal to the output stage if there is a discrepancy greater than the set level.
