KIT25XS6300EKEVB is an evaluation engine board designed to evaluate and demonstrate the performance and features of Texas Instruments’ Sitara™ AM335x ARM® Cortex™-A8 processor-based system-on-chip (SoC). This evaluation and demonstration board is intended to provide a platform to rapidly prototype, develop and demonstrate various software applications aiming any embedded device that use Sitara™ AM335x ARM® Cortex™-A8 processor.

Application Field and Working Principle

The KIT25XS6300EKEVB features a wide range of peripheral devices that can be used in development for various application fields. The applications fields include: industrial automation, Internet of Things (IoT) gateways, medical, automotive and consumer products. The evaluation board contains a main processor with an ARM Cortex-A8 core, a Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) and a 3D engine, a audio codec, a MMC/SD port, two UARTs, up to four high-speed USB 2.0 ports, one Ethernet port (100/1000 Mbps), an on-board antenna, multiple LED\'s, seven user buttons, one LCD display port, one CAN bus, and much more.The development platform includes an on-board JTAG emulator, boot modes (SD Cards, SPI, UART, etc.), dual kernels (Linux and Windows Embedded Compact 7) , schematics and some accessories like Cables, power adapter, debug plugins, etc.In terms of working principle, the main components and peripherals of the evaluation board run on 3.3V power supply, linked to the processor through a boot mode. The application is programmed in C and C++ and executed on the processor while other components operating separately.
