Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits: KIT33794DWBEVM
The KIT33794DWBEVM (KIT) is an evaluation and demonstration board and kit from Texas Instruments (TI) that is designed to enable engineers to quickly evaluate and demonstrate various digital solutions. The board provides a platform to evaluate and demonstrate TI’s programmable logic devices (PLDs) with differentiated and competitive features. The KIT33794DWBEVM has two fundamental components – the evaluation module (EVM) and demonstration board (DB). The EVM is a complete prototyping board that provides all the components required to evaluate and demonstrate the capabilities of TI’s PLDs. The EVM includes an ARM Cortex-M4 processor, a microcontroller-based I/O interface, an AC/DC power source, a serial interface and general-purpose I/O ports. The DB is a development platform that supports TI PLDs, allowing users to apply their own digital design concepts to the board. The DB includes peripheral devices, such as serial interface expansion headers, a digital I/O port, an analog I/O port, battery backup, and an onboard LCD display.
The EVM and DB can be wired together for experiments, giving engineers the ability to evaluate the capabilities of TI’s PLDs and develop digital solutions to enable real-time measurement, recording, analysis and system control. Engineers can also extend TI PLD functions through programming to test various scenarios. Programmable logic device (PLD) functionality can also be tested, simulated, and evaluated in custom-designed applications.
The KIT33794DWBEVM also includes software packages, such as Xilinx Vivado Webpack and System Generator, which provide generic, easy-to-use, real-time design tools for evaluating and demonstrating the capabilities of TI’s PLDs. The included sample code allows the user to quickly get up and running with the board and gain insight into how the cards can be programmed to enable real-time operations. The included simulation software enables the user to “see” the board in action and simulate various scenarios to evaluate how the cards behave in the user’s application.
The KIT33794DWBEVM is an ideal solution for demonstrating and evaluating TI’s PLDs. The board allows engineers to quickly evaluate and demonstrate the capabilities of TI’s PLDs, and develop applications to enable real-time functionality.
