- Application
The KRDI220 is a type of Time Delay Relay (TDR). It is specially designed for hot and cold water temperature control in Household and commercial settings. The KRDI220 is a convenient, cost-effective solution for controlling the water temperature in a controlled, accurate manner without creating an unsafe environment.
The KRDI220 is capable of controlling water temperatures up to 100 degrees Celsius with an accuracy range of 0.001 degree per second. The KRDI220 is ideal for controlling temperature in Electric Shower systems, hot water pipes, water heating systems, air-conditioning systems, and hot water tanks.
The KRDI220 is also suitable for a variety of other applications, including PID (proportional-integral-derivative) control, single-phase AC systems, fan and motor speed control, flow and pressure control, and low-temperature heating.
- Working Principle
The KRDI220 works by sensing the temperature of the water within a certain range. Once the temperature is detected, the relay’s internal thermistor causes a current to be generated and sent to the Output Socket (OS) to activate the relay’s OFF (open) position.
When the temperature of the water increases beyond the pre-set temperature, the thermistor triggers the TDR to switch to its ON (closed) position. This closes the circuit, activating the heater to heat up the water. The heater will then remain activated until the temperature drops below the set point, causing the current to reverse and the relay to move to its OFF (open) position again.
The KRDI220 also has a time delay feature, allowing the user to set the timer before the relay turns on again. This delay prevents it from cycling too often, reducing the chance of damage to the heater due to frequent switching.
The KRDI220 also has a number of additional features, such as an adjustable hysteresis range for temperature fluctuations, adjustable response time for activating the relay, and a memory function to remember your last settings.
