KSZ8893MBLI is an integrated, high performance, and low power Ethernet switch mixed-function device, which contains a 12-port 10/100 Mbps Ethernet switch along with an 8-port managed layer 2 switch. The integrated MAC also support basic switching and bridging functions. This device is suitable for small-scale networking applications such as home networking and small office/home office (SOHO) applications. It has many application fields such as industrial control, consumer electronics, automotive, and medical devices. It is also suitable for power over Ethernet (PoE) switches and other human-machine interface (HMI) applications.

The major functions of the KSZ8893MBLI are packet transfer, packet switching, packet filtering, and packet routing. Implementation of those functions is done through an Embedded 32-bit processor with 2K Bytes of On-chip SRAM, 32-bit central memory interface, and 1K Bytes of flash memory. The device includes both internal and external access ports. The internal access port includes 16-pin 1.27mm peripheral-to-peripheral interface connector and 18-pin 1.27mm terminal connector for XBee and other wireless communication devices. The external access port includes a 10/100BASE-T with IEEE management port.
