The L78L05ABD13TR voltage regulator is a three-terminal linear regulator designed to provide a stable 5V output voltage. An overcurrent protection mechanism converts an overload condition into a latch off state to help protect the device. The thermal shutdown feature will activate when the die temperature approaches the limit for safe operation; thus, it prevents the device from reaching higher temperatures and helps prevent damage.
