The transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode, also known as Transil or Trisil, is a single-directional semiconductor device that quickly suppresses or clamps the voltage when the input voltage goes beyond a certain threshold, thus providing a robust protection against lightning-induced and electrostatic discharge-induced transients. LC05-6.TBT is a kind of TVS diodes that can be widely used in consumer electronics, automotive electronics, communication equipment, industrial control equipment and other electronic products.

As a kind of diode, LC05-6.TBT is constructed in a diode structure, containing a diode point-contact region formed by an anode and a cathode. The operating principle of the LC05-6.TBT is based on its electron current conduction characteristics. When the input voltage exceeds the critical diode voltage threshold, the diode breakover current starts to flow in the device and the voltage is then clamped to the breakdown voltage.
