PMIC - Voltage Regulators - Linear
LD6816CX4/30H,315 is a two end low-drop positive linear voltage regulator. It with two functional parts – the control device and the power transistors. It is designed to provide a stable output voltage, in spite of the variations in load currents or input voltage conditions. LD6816CX4/30H,315 offers output currents of up to 30A and can be used for a wide range of applications.
Application Field
LD6816CX4/30H,315 is suitable for power adjustment in all kinds of electronic systems and circuits, such as industrial machinery, military equipment, automotive electronics, communications and etc. As a two end low-drop positive linear voltage regulator, it can provide a constant voltage output with input voltage of 3.7V and 5.5V, output voltage in the range of 0.7V to 5V, and output current of 30A.
Working Principle
The control device of LD6816CX4/30H,315 will convert the input supply voltage into the power transistors, and the power transistors will pass the power on to the output voltage. The output voltage can be adjusted in a certain range according to the voltage of the input supply voltage.
There are two resistors connected to the control device to control the output voltage. One of the resistors is the variable resistor, which can adjust the duty cycle of the control device to make the output voltage reach the predetermined value. For example, when the variable resistor is adjusted to the maximum state, the control device will output the maximum voltage and the output voltage can reach the maximum value.
Another resistor is the feedback resistor, which provides the output voltage information to the control device. The control device will adjust the duty cycle to keep the output voltage at the predetermined value according to this output voltage feedback information.
In addition, LD6816CX4/30H,315 also contains the protection circuit, to ensure the safe and secure operation of the device. The protection circuit is connected to the control device, and when the voltage of the output voltage is higher than the predetermined value due to some external factors (such as the input voltage is too high), the protection circuit will send a protection signal to the control device, which will reduce the output current and ensure the operation safety.
