LE33CD-TR Application Field and Working Principle
LE33CD-TR is a fixed 3-terminal regulator designed to supply more than 1.5A output current and output voltage of 1.8V. It belongs to the type of PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuits) that are used to manage the power of many electrical and electronic devices. Specifically, LE33CD-TR belongs to a sub-type of PMIC called Voltage Regulators, and further belongs to the Linear Voltage Regulators sub-group. This article will discuss the application fields and the working principle of LE33CD-TR.Application Fields
LE33CD-TR is used for applications such as memory circuitry, processor core and I/O power supplies, and other power management applications requiring higher current outputs. It is a step up from the watt-level regulator in that it can provide more current than watt-level regulators. With its consolidated design, it is ideal for notebooks, netbooks, tablet PCs, desktops and other devices where regulating voltage with high efficiency and low power dissipation is important.Working Principle
The LE33CD-TR consists of three terminals (input, output and ground). It modifies the fixed output voltage in response to the amount of current that flows in the input and output terminals. The Input terminal must have a voltage voltage greater than the output voltage, otherwise the circuit can not be operated. The output voltage of LE33CD-TR is regulated by two resistors, an internal resistor and an external resistor. These two resistors determine the voltage at the output terminal. The output voltage of LE33CD-TR is determined by the following formula: Vo=Vin(1+(R1/R2)) .The internal resistor is capable of adjusting the voltage level of the output voltage according to the load current changes, which makes it especially useful for those applications requiring variable output voltage. The regulation circuit of LE33CD-TR includes two reference voltage sources (V REF+ and V REF-) and an op-amp.The first reference voltage source (V REF+) is used to set the upper limit of the output voltage. And the second reference voltage source (V REF-) is used to set the lower limit of the output voltage. An Error Amplifier also forms part of the regulation circuit. Its duty is to monitor the voltage at the output terminal and compare it to the two reference voltages (V REF+ and V REF-). When the output voltage deviates from the reference voltages, the Error Amplifier will signal the internal Adjustment/Control pin to adjust the output voltage. The Adjustment/Control Pin will then activate an internal voltage level shifter which will adjust the conversion gain of the LE33CD-TR. Accordingly, the output voltage will be modified and stabilized.Summary
LE33CD-TR is a 3-terminal Linear Voltage Regulator ideal for power management applications requiring higher current outputs. It has a consolidated design that makes it perfect for small, portable electronic devices such as notebooks, netbooks, tablet PCs, and desktops. LE33CD-TR works by adjusting the conversion gain of the circuit through the Error Amplifier, which compares the output voltage to two reference voltages, V REF+ and V REF-, and activate the internal Adjustment/Control Pin. Overall, LE33CD-TR is a highly efficient and low-power voltage regulator, capable of quickly and accurately responding to changes in load current and providing electric devices with reliable and steady power. -end-The specific data is subject to PDF, and the above content is for reference
