The LE88536PQCT belongs to a family of highly integrated advanced octal line cards designed for both large-scale and cost-sensitive applications. The LE88536PQCT includes two T1/E1 transceivers, two integrated DMA engines, two digital signal processing (DSP) engines, and three input/output pins with flexible signal routing. It also includes a high-speed USB2.0 bus, a flexible interrupt controller, programmable memory access control and a wide range of telecom-specific features.

The LE88536PQCT supports time-slot interchangers (TSI) for up to eight T1/E1 lines. The integrated TSI provides a cost-effective means to allow several T1/E1 lines to be bundled together, reducing the total PCB and integration costs. The TSI is also designed to handle state-machine changes, allowing it to be used as an interface between disparate communication pieces of equipment on an application.

The LE88536PQCT\'s two DSP engines can process up to 256 kSps of linear data or 64 kSps of companded data streams, and can support up to 256 MB of RAM.
