Working Principle of LED7707

The LED7707 integrates an analog dimming circuit and an ON/OFF switching circuit. The external voltage is used to set the brightnes and OFF level of the LED current. The LED7707 uses a buck-boost switching topology and a constant output current source to regulate the LED chips current. LED7707 was designed to provide a variable LED current from 2mA to 400mA.

The LED7707 offers high efficiency of up to 85%, low RDS(ON) of 65mΩ and low total harmonic distortion of 5%. It has a wide operating voltage range from 4.5V to 35V and a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C. It also features a 2-step dimming control allowing for low light output or dimmed light output, thermal protection and short circuit protection.

The LED7707 is a highly integrated, single-chip LED driver that reduces system design complexity and cost compared to conventional LED driver solutions. By using this LED driver, designers are able to reduce size, improve reliability and optimize the LED lighting solution and system performance.
