The LF412ACN is a dual, high-speed, high performance, low noise, wide bandwidth JFET input operational amplifier. This IC is designed for use as a buffer amp in high speed data acquisition and instrumentation systems, due to its low drift and low constant input bias current. It is also suitable as an active filter, sample and hold circuit, or in high order filtering applications. In addition, LF412ACN can be used in low frequency audio, power audio, and power amplifier applications if its low input bias current is taken into account.

The LF412ACN is a monolithic integrated circuit in an 8-pin plastic package that includes two separate op amps. It combines low offset voltage, low bias current, wide bandwidth, high slew rate, excellent frequency response, and low noise.While it is possible to operate the LF412ACN with a single supply, it is designed for use with a split supply of +/-5V to +/-15V. The output is capable of swinging to within 10mV of supplies, so the op amp can be used in current-sensing applications where the input and output both have to be close to ground.

The LF412ACN’s input stage consists of two JFET transistors connected in a differential amplifier configuration. This input stage has high input impedance and low noise. The LF412ACN has a common-mode input voltage range from 6V below the negative supply rail to 14V above the positive supply rail. It also has a very low input bias current which can reduce the settling time of the amplifier and reduce drift.
