An embedded field programmable gate array (FPGA) is an integrated circuit that is strategically designed to adapt to changing circumstances in the field. LFE5U-45F-6MG285C is an embedded FPGA from Lattice Semiconductor. It is a low-power, low gate count FPGA that is ideal for embedded applications requiring an efficient FPGA solution with low power consumption. This device has a small form factor and is designed to operate in harsh environments, ensuring reliable performance in the most extreme conditions. LFE5U-45F-6MG285C features a 2.5V to 3.3V supply voltage, 2300 LUTs, up to 45 Multipliers and up to 16 MB of embedded Flash memory. It is pin compatible with other Lattice FPGA families and provides ease of integration and scalability throughout the design process.
This device integrates with the low-power versions of the VersaBase FPGA architecture. Its features include synchronization of high-speed signals, optimized TSMC process performance, dedicated I/Os for clock management, DLLs for high-speed signal synchronization and Dual Fractional PLL for system clock generation. Additionally, the device includes a data-signal integrity retaining logic. An Improved version of the SDRAM controller, eCP3-S featuring a single-clock Free Routing Flow and an embedded 1G transceiver are also included.
LFE5U-45F-6MG285C also features a member of the iPbP Power-Optimized FPGA family, the eCP5 offering enhanced performance along with low-power consumption and support for the most advanced soft core processor, the Mico8. This member of the eCP family utilizes the latest FPGA technology, allowing the highest levels of logic density and the best-in-class low-power consumption. It is also the first software programmable device from the eCP family that supports Security protocols such as Secure Boot and UFS (User File System).
For debugging and performance assessment, this device offers an embedded oscilloscope, allowing for real-time viewing of signals and gathering power estimation data. Furthermore, the device integrates an internal JTAG for debugging, as well as a built-in trace port for real-time diagnostics of internal registers. For embedded design projects that require performance optimization, the LFE5U-45F-6MG285C has the support and the flexibility to design the most advanced embedded applications with the ability to rapidly respond to changing customer demands.
