Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors An aluminum electrolytic capacitor is one of the most commonly used capacitors in electronics. It is made up of three parts – two aluminum plates, a semi-permeable dielectric material, and an electrolyte. The plates are separated by the electrolyte and the dielectric material which turn them into a conductive device. During assembly, the plates are folded in such a way as to maximize capacitance and also reduce leakage current. The LGG2P561MELZ35 is an example of one such device with a mainly insulated construction and an operating temperature range of -55°C to 105°C.
