Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are one of the most popular capacitors used in electrical and electronic circuits. They are usually made of aluminum or tantalum as the anode and are filled with an electrolyte that acts as a conductor. The electrolyte is usually an aqueous solution of potassium hydroxide, and the dielectric is an oxide film on the foil of the anode. Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are very useful components because they have a relatively high energy density, an extremely long life span, a very low leakage current, and a low electrical resistance.
