Aluminum electrolytic capacitors, or aluminum caps, are capacitor components that utilize the electrolyte as a medium for storing electrical energy. They are, likely, the most commonly used capacitors and are predominately used for power management in both commercial and industrial applications. The LLS1C822MELZ aluminum electrolytic capacitor consists of an anode made from high purity aluminum that is anodized, etched, and wound producing a very thin aluminum oxide film, a cathode produced from a tin-plated steel plate, and a non-aqueous electrolyte consisting of a combination of solid and liquid material. To increase the surface area and boost capacitance levels, an anode and a very thin capacitor dielectric are wound together in concertina form. The capacitor works principle based on the charging and discharging of the capacitor\'s accumulating charge. When a voltage is applied, the stored charge can be drawn based on the capacitance value, a measure of the amount of current a capacitor is able to store at any given time. When the capacitor is discharged, the charge, on the capacitors electrodes, escapes to the environment.
