Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors are components that use the phenomenon of electrolysis for energy storage. The LLS1E562MELZ is an aluminum capacitor of this type, which offers a high capacitance value of 56µF and a low Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) of 1mΩ. This makes them ideally suited for use in power supply decoupling, such as power conditioners/stabilisers, voltage regulators, DC-DC converters, and switching power supply.

At the heart of this type of capacitor are two layers of aluminium foil, which are alternately coated with an oxide film and electrolyte. An anode aluminium foil made of corrugated aluminium is used for the outer cylinder, while the inner cylinder is dielectric as part of the second aluminium layer. This type of capacitor is often referred to as an anode aluminum dielectric capacitor because of this oxide-electrolyte-oxide-electrolyte structure.

The working principle of the LLS1E562MELZ is based on the accumulation of electrical charges at the edges of the two foil plates. As charge accumulates, a potential is created between them that in turn generates a capacitance. Crucially, this capacitance can be adjusted by varying the oxide thickness, the shape of the anode foil, and the size of the anode foil.

Unlike other capacitors, such as ceramic or film capacitors, aluminum electrolytic capacitors offer a more reliable, higher capacitance/capacitance density than other types. With the LLS1E562MELZ in particular, it is able to offer a capacitance of 56µF and a low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) of 1mΩ, as well as being able to withstand temperatures up to 105°C.

The LLS1E562MELZ has a number of applications in power supply decoupling due to its solid and reliable performance. As power supply decoupling is crucial for clean and reliable power, the LLS1E562MELZ is ideal for use in power conditioners/stabilisers, converters, regulators and transformers.
