LM21212-2EVM/NOPB is an evaluation board with its application in DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS. It is a high-performance, wide-input voltage range, step-down DC-DC converter. This converter is designed to minimize component count by integrating power devices and power loss into a monolithic IC package. It also provides an analog feedback loop that is essential for obtaining high performance in small and low power applications.
In terms of application, the LM21212-2EVM/NOPB is widely used in current limited inefficient and current limited efficient topologies for the off-line DC/DC & AC/DC SMPS applications. It is also suitable for primary powr supplies as well as high frequency isolated DC/DC & AC/DC SMPS applications. Moreover, advanced burst-mode control switching and proprietary current waveform shaping circuitry ensures high efficiency and excellent light load regulation.
The LM21212-2EVM/NOPB operates from a wide input voltage range. The maximum input voltage is 72 VDC at as low as 1 A. It delivers up to 12 A of output current at 5.5 VDC to 12 VDC in 0.1 A increments with no additional external components. It also provides a regulated 5 A output at an adjustable output voltage range from 0.8 V to 5.5 V. To provide the accurate output voltage, the LM21212-2EVM/NOPB is equipped with a wide-value feedback resistor string that can be adjusted from 0.8 to 5.5 V.
In addition to the wide input and output voltage range, the LM21212-2EVM/NOPB also offers the wide frequency range that can be switched from 100 kHz to 2.2 MHz. This wide switching frequency range allows the user to increase the efficiency of the power supply at higher frequency steps. It also features a single-ended primary inductor (SEPIC) conversion topology that provides maximum load transient capability and minimum size.
The LM21212-2EVM/NOPB has a built-in analog feedback loop to provide accurate output voltage regulation regardless of the changes in the output current and temperature. The use of this analog feedback loop also enables the LM21212-2EVM/NOPB to provide excellent line and load regulation, high efficiency, and low output noise level. Also, its thermal and over-current protection circuitry offers maximum reliability.
To make it easier to use, the LM21212-2EVM/NOPB evaluation board features an easy-to-use graphical user interface. This user interface allows users to setup and monitor the power supply with the ease of a point-and-click due to the multiple graphical menu tabs.
All in all, the LM21212-2EVM/NOPB evaluation board is the perfect solution for high efficiency operations, in DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS applications.
