The LM21305DEMO/NOPB is an evaluation board for DC/DC and AC/DC power supply applications. It offers a comprehensive design solution with on-chip PWM controller, MOSFETs, and an isolated switch-mode power supply for off-line operating applications.

The LM21305DEMO/NOPB circuit is built around the LM21305, which is a highly integrated, adaptive on-time, current mode PWM controller that operates from an input supply voltage of 6 V to 36 V. This PWM controller features a wide array of features that make it suitable for a broad range of applications including compact low power LED ballasts, programmable AC/DC power supplies, full bridge converters, on/off line converters, and current sources with commercial, industrial, healthcare, and communications sectors.

The integrated features of the LM21305 PWM controller include a highly efficient, voltage mode control scheme with an adaptive control algorithm and on-axis current sensing technology. This provides superior performance in terms of line/load regulation, efficiency, and EMI control. The LM21305 also includes an externally programmable OVP protection, an internal soft start for reducing high-inrush currents, and adjustable current-limit protection. The onboard MOSFETs allow for up to 50 V of output voltage with an operating power range of up to 3 A.

In addition, the LM21305DEMO/NOPB features an isolated switch-mode power supply (SMPS), which provides a high level of transient response and stability in high frequency switch-mode power supply applications. The SMPS design incorporates a low frequency voltage mode control topology featuring efficient operation, flexible output voltage, good voltage/current setting accuracy, and adjustable frequency range. The SMPS also includes a step-up/down topology with a high output voltage level of up to 400 V DC.

The LM21305DEMO/NOPB provides a comprehensive platform for evaluation, designing, and prototyping of a wide range of off-line applications including, compact low power LED ballasts, programmable AC/DC power supplies, full bridge, and on/off line converters. Its numerous on-board features provide superior performance in terms of line/load regulation, efficiency, and EMI control. Additionally, the LM21305DEMO/NOPB is cost effective and easily reconfigurable to address a multitude of DC/DC and AC/DC off-line applications.
