The LM2734ZEVAL/NOPB is an important part of the evaluation boards for DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS. It is an evaluation board designed to assess the features of the LM2734 DC/DC, AC/DC SMPS controller. By combining the evaluation board with a wide range of tested resistors, capacitors, inductors, crystals and MOSFETs, users can evaluate all of the features of the LM2734, including but not limited to the wide operating voltage range, high efficiency data-sheet values, cycle-by-cycle current limit, and over-voltage protection. All protected signals are accessible through single-ended, PECL, and differential signals to make board configuration easy.

The LM2734 is a fully integrated DC/DC, and AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS controller designed to work in with different topologies. It provides current mode control with a digitally programmable constant frequency oscillator that allows the adjustable frequency capability from 300kHz to 600kHz with excellent ripple, line, load and temperature regulation--all with minimal external components. The patented cycle-by-cycle current limit scheme also eliminates the need for external RT elements and provides broader load range as needed. All protections have been integrated to simplify the implementation.

The LM2734ZEVAL/NOPB is designed to enable efficient evaluation of the full features of the LM2734 in an entirely closed loop environment. To do this, the evaluation board supplies a wide range of tested resistors, capacitors, inductors, crystals and MOSFETs, so that users can easily test all of the features of the LM2734. The layout is also designed to reduce the amount of external cabling and for better thermal dissipation. The board includes a power supply socket and two driver boards that can be used to power a synchronous MOSFET gate driver.

The LM2734ZEVAL/NOPB features include a wide operating voltage range, high efficiency data-sheet values, cycle-by-cycle current limit, protection against over-voltage, and digital programmability for adjustable frequency and programmable overrun. In addition, all protected signals are accessible through single-ended, PECL, and differential signals to make board configuration easy. The evaluation board also includes an RS-232 interface for a serial port, and an LED indicator for the status of each protection.
