LM2759SDEV is a motor drive evaluation board belonging to Evaluation Boards - LED Drivers. It is a high-performance, integrated monolithic motor driver. The motor driver can be used in various applications requiring high current and/or high voltage. The board consists of two main components: two split-channel chips LM2759S and two discrete MOSFETs.

Working Principle:
The LM2759SDEV boards include two LM2759S chips and two discrete MOSFETs. The LM2759S chip contains an integrated gate driver and voltage regulator for the MOSFETs, making it suitable for high-current and/or high-voltage applications. The board includes a number of features, including differential amplifier and digital/analog inputs, output current monitoring, and voltage supply detection.
The LM2759S device is controlled by the on-board MOSFET gate driver and external digital signals. When the device is enabled, the MOSFET gate drivers turn on the MOSFETs and the current flow through the FETs is regulated. The external digital signals can be used to control the direction of the motor and to adjust the speed. The board also includes a voltage regulator for the FETs to reduce the power dissipated by the FETs and to protect them from overvoltage.
The LM2759SDEV boards are designed to handle loads up to 2A at up to 40V. The current limit of the device can be controlled through the current limit resistor (RCL) mounted on the board. The overvoltage protection is provided by the integrated zener diode D3 and the current limiting function is enabled by the integrated current sense resistor (R1).
