The LM2733XEVAL/NOPB is an evaluation board used to evaluate the LM2733 current mode high-voltage PWM controller in a low-power offline switch mode power supply (SMPS) application. The board can be easily configured for either a buck, boost, buck-boost, or sepic application. It has the capability to generate output voltages as high as 80Vpk for applications such as DC-DC converters, motor controllers, high-voltage supplies for instrumentation, solar panel trackers, and even DC-to-AC conversion.

The board has an onboard sense resistor that is used to control the output voltage and is connected between the output voltage rail and ground. The resistors are sized for the application. A jumper is provided to configure the controller for either current mode or voltage mode control operation. Two external capacitors are used to stabilize the gate drive frequencies and are connected between the RESET and DRV pins of the controller.

The board also includes an onboard current-sense amplifier and comparator. This amplifier is connected between the Source pin and ground, and it amplifies the difference between these two points to provide feedback to the controller.
