The LM27213MTDX/NOPB is a monolithic switching regulator specifically designed for single-cell Li-Ion battery and multi-cell alkaline/NiCd/NiMH battery applications. This integrated circuit (IC) is an ideal solution for controlling the power dissipation of battery powered portable applications. The LM27213MTDX/NOPB is a DC-DC Switching Controller that regulates output voltage from 0.8V to 5.6V. It is a current mode step-down DC-DC switching regulator featuring a low drop-out voltage of 180mV and a wide output voltage adjustment range.

The LM27213MTDX/NOPB can provide up to 1A of continuous load current and up to 2A of pulse current at a 3 MHz switching frequency. It features unconditional short-circuit protection, which prevents the external switch FET, filter inductor and filter capacitor from damage in the event of an output overload. Additionally, it has thermal shutdown protection and over current protection. The IC is available in a small SSOP-8 package.

Working principle
