LM2772SDEV is an evaluation board from Texas Instruments. It is designed for DC/DC and AC/DC (off-line) switch mode power supply (SMPS). It helps users to analyze and develop switch mode power suppliers in an efficient and cost-effective way. The power switching devices in the IC are directly connected to a transformer\'s primary winding which switches the current flow from the input to the output.
The IC also contains an enhanced short-circuit protection function, which limits the maximum current that can flow through the switching devices. This prevents damage to the switching devices when the output is shorted. The UVR circuitry is utilized to monitor the input voltage to detect an undervoltage condition, while the LBM circuitry is used to detect a low-battery condition.
The LM2772SDEV evaluation board also incorporates a fixed frequency PWM controller with very low shutdown current. This ensures that the maximum power output is always optimized. It also includes features such as thermal shutdown, peak current limit and overvoltage protection. The evaluation board also includes an on-board power-on reset circuit to provide a reliable reset at start-up and an excessive current warning indicator.
