LM338 is a monolithic integrated circuit made with DMOS process, which is one of the most common and widely used integrated voltage regulator composed of N-channel MOSFET to achieve precise output voltage regulation. It includes a temperature compensated band gap voltage reference, an error amplifier, a common emitter current amplifier, a precise voltage regulator, and a current limiter block. LM338’s purpose is to maintain precise DC voltage levels for a wide range of voltages and currents.
LM338 has an operational temperature range from -55°C to +125°C. Therefore, the device can be used in any environment.
