LM3492HCEVM is a Evaluation Board for LED Drivers. It is a high current, constant frequency primary side led driver integrated circuit(IC). It provides a high performance power solution, enabling various lighting applications to meet all requirements from the actual operating conditions. The LM3492HCEVM is able to provide up to 300 W of continuous power with precision frequency and dimming accuracy. The LM3492HCEVM has a wide array of features, including integrated input line protection and output overvoltage protection. The LM3492HCEVM also offers temperature sensing, temperature mapping, and an on-board 1.8V power supply, so that the LED driver circuit can be optimized for any specific LED load.Working Principle of LM3492HCEVM
The LM3492HCEVM utilizes a constant frequency current mode architecture, meaning that the circuit functions independent of switching frequency and load current. The constant frequency current mode is also known as a “triangle wave architecture” as it generates a triangle wave signal in order to control the power it outputs. This technology helps to reduce EMI noise and to increase efficiency by providing lower losses during switching transients. The IC uses an on-chip voltage regulation to ensure an output voltage that is always within the specified range and is therefore immune to line and load variations.The current feedback control system of LM3492HCEVM is used to monitor and adjust the current in each of the output phases. The output current is adjusted in proportion to changes in the input power. This mechanism allows the circuit to maintain a constant output power despite changing conditions.
