PMIC - Battery Charger is a monitoring device that manages and safeguards the process of charging and discharging of a battery. At lower battery levels, it is capable of undertaking a trickle charge in order to subject the battery to asafe charging current in order to prevent further deterioration of the battery and reduce the amount of time it takes to fully charge it.The LM3420AM5X-12.6 benefits from Texas Instruments Inc. resonant half-bridge (RHB) topology as it can be enabled to automatically switch between a discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) and a continuous conduction mode (CCM) so that the device can operate with a significantly higher efficiency.
