Power management integrated circuits (PMICs) are designed to manage the power supply of a given system, including voltage regulators, power converters, battery management, lighting, so on and so forth. Among these PMICs, voltage regulators are of which there are various kinds, consisting of linear regulators, controllers and DC-DC switching regulators. The latter can further be classified into DC-DC buck, boost and buck-boost, each serving for a different purpose.
