.The LMH2191TMEVAL/NOPB evaluation board is ideal for evaluating, testing, and demonstrating the LMH2191 TM, a low voltage differential signaling (LVDS) clock driver. By providing one of the industry’s lowest power clock drivers, the LMH2191 provides designers with a way to reduce system power consumption without sacrificing precision.The LVDS technology employed by the LMH2191 provides great noise immunity and power savings that can dramatically reduce the power and cost for transmitting data in a system. By enabling longer cables and reduced component count, this evaluation board allows designers to quickly and affordably test and evaluate the LMH2191.
The evaluation board provides various components and features to enable flexibility in testing and evaluation. On the input side, the board is designed around TI’s Single Ended (SE) or Differential input (CRI) technology. The SE input is meant to be used with any logic input while the CRI input enables transmission of multiple wavelengths of light to the input. The board also provides various control components needed to adjust, configure, and control the LMH2191.
Once a user has decided upon the input type, the output part of the board can be configured. The board is set up to accommodate up to four different output configurations. Automated test patterns allow for easy capturing of data from the different outputs. Users can select from different output forms such as DC coupled, AC coupled, TTL, or LVCMOS, depending on what the application requires.
Upon setting up the board for your desired configuration, the user can then analyze and compare waveforms, evaluate timing characteristics, and compare different product specs. By doing so, users can quickly evaluate different voltage swings, power, noise margin, and timing. The evaluation board also includes a PC interface for more detailed analysis and plotting of data, as well as other communication related features like soft start power up, timeouts, and reporting. Overall, the LMH2191TMEVAL/NOPB evaluation board is an efficient and affordable way to evaluate and test the LMH2191.
