The LMK00338RTAT is an ultra-low jitter external timing generator (ETG) designed to simplify timing and avoidance of traditional phase-lock loops (PLLs) in radio frequency (RF) communications and clock/timing systems. It contains a fractional-N frequency synthesizer based on a digitally-controlled oscillator (DCO) to produce frequencies from their DC and low-frequency outputs. Additionally, the LMK00338RTAT contains a digitally calibrated frequency synthesizer based on a temperature compensation reference oscillator and temperature compensated bias voltage for stability over temperature. It also includes level shift, divide-by-2, and divide-by-4 outputs as well as an auxiliary controller for frequency/phase modulation control and synchronous initialization function.
