1. Describe

The LMR14050QDPRRQ1 is a 40V, 5A step-down regulator with an integrated high-side MOSFET. And with a wide input range of 4 V to 40 V, it is suitable for power regulation from unregulated power supplies in a variety of applications from industrial to automotive. An extended range of 2 A and 3.5 A options is available in pin-to-pin compatible packages, including the LMR14020-Q1 and LMR14030- Q1. Quiescent current in regulator sleep mode is 40 µA, i.e. Suitable for battery powered systems. Ultra-low 1 μA current in shutdown mode can further extend battery life. Widely adjustable switching frequency range allows efficiency or external component size to be optimized. Internal loop compensation means the user is relieved from the tedious task of loop compensation design. This also reduces the external components of the device. Precision Enable Input Simplifies Regulator Control and system power sequencing. The device also has built-in protections such as cycle-by-cycle current limiting, thermal sensing and shutdown due to excessive power dissipation and output overvoltage protection. The LMR14050-Q1 is available in an 8-lead HSOIC or 10-lead WSON package with exposed pad for low thermal resistance.
