Temperature Sensors - Analog and Digital Output, the LMT84LPGM is an innovative temperature sensor that offers both analog and digital output. The LMT84LPGM is a low power, single-chip temperature sensors with a temperature range of both -40°C to +125°C and -40°F to 256°F. It offers a high degree of accuracy and resolution while consuming less power than traditional temperature sensors.

The LMT84LPGM features a precision temperature-to-frequency converter (PTF) that helps output an analog voltage proportional to the measured temperature. This makes it particularly useful for precision temperature measurements, and it is ideal for use in industrial, automotive, medical, consumer, and other applications.

The device uses a unique architecture that includes a programmable gain and hysteresis circuit, a temperature-to-frequency converter (TFC), and a low-noise schmitt-trigger. The output of the TFC is fed to the Hysteresis circuit and proportional with temperature range, and to the Schmitt Trigger. The Hysteresis circuit provides a low-noise, low-power temperature sensing function by comparing the present temperature with the previous temperature.

The high accuracy of the LMT84LPGM is due to its precise temperature-to-frequency converter, which provides a linear output voltage with a temperature resolution of 0.03°C (0.05°F). It also features a low power consumption with a typical total quiescent current consumption of 1.2mA. The LMT84LPGM also offers both digital and analog output. Its digital output is provided through a configurable open collector output, which can be used as either active low/high logic output or an open collector output with pull-up resistor.
