LMX2531LQ1700E/NOPB is an integrated 10-output/DClocked jitter attenuator IC that provides a wide array of output frequency selections and also to integrate other frequency synthesizers for even more output control. The LMX2531LQ1700E/NOPB contains a Synthesizer, PLL and Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO).
This integrated clock generator IC is ideally suited for use in a wide variety of communications and computing applications. These applications include, but are not limited to, wireless transceivers, optical transceivers, Ethernet switches, digital subscriber lines, adapters and storage systems. The LMX2531LQ1700E/NOPB is also well-suited for use in industrial and military-grade applications.
The Synthesizer, PLL and VCO are three core components of the LMX2531LQ1700E/NOPB clock generator IC. The Synthesizer creates an initial square wave clock waveform while the PLL creates an ultra-low-jitter resulting output clock waveform. The VCO is able to rapidly adjust the clock rate as needed via a single one-wire communication bus.
The Synthesizer is a circuit designed to create a highly accurate spectral output while attenuating jitter and avoiding spreading of harmonics. The PLL is a feedback loop used to generate a much more stable output waveforms than those of the Synthesizer. This stable output waveforms allows for critical system timing. The outputs of the PLL are fed into the VCO to create a wide variety of frequencies ranging from 0.6 GHz to 1.8 GHz.
