The LMX2541SQ2690E/NOPB clock/timing generator is a programmable, jitter-optimized, frequency synthesizer and clock generator that can generate up to four programmable output frequency clocks at the same time. It is capable of frequency synthesis and clock generation spanning the range of 10 MHz to 2.65 GHz. Each output frequency can be programmed independently by providing a reference clock, VCO selection and programming enable. 

The LMX2541SQ2690E/NOPB is designed for applications requiring multi-output clock sources at a variety of frequencies. The device integrates complex and power hungry components like a Phase Locked Loop (PLL), a crystal oscillator, a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), dividers, a low phase noise reference, and a built-in temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) into a single device.

The LMX2541SQ2690E/NOPB includes an integrated Controllable Divider (CD) that can divide by any integer, fractional, or sigma-delta values while still providing a wide range of frequencies. It also has a multiple output enables feature that allows up to four outputs to be enabled or disabled simultaneously and independently. The device can produce low-jitter differential outputs up to 4.669 GHz and up to 4.41 GHz single-ended outputs.

The internal voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) of the LMX2541SQ2690E/NOPB can generate frequencies up to 2.65GHz with a low noise, high linearity and low jitter. The device has programmable divide ratios to enable frequency multiples of the VCO output. In addition, the device offers frequency shift keying (FSK) operation and provides an external voltage control for frequency shifting. The PLL offers a wide lock range and can be used for frequency synthesizing applications.

The LMX2541SQ2690E/NOPB integrates a low noise reference clock that offers frequency outputs from 10 MHz to 200 MHz. The integrated TCXO provides a 25MHz reference source with low noise, low jitter and high stability over temperature. It also offers an integrated digital control loops that allows programmability of the internal PLL parameters and register status monitoring.

The LMX2541SQ2690E/NOPB features programmable output muxing and active-low logic, allowing multiple outputs to be configured together. The output muxing is programmable through dedicated control bits or through I2C control. The device supports 10 different output types, including KVH, LVDS, HCSL, and LVCMOS. Tuning loop-rate tracking is also available which reduces jitter and phase noise of the outputs.

The LMX2541SQ2690E/NOPB is an ideal device for applications requiring multiple, programmable frequency clocks with low phase noise, low jitter, and high frequency stability.
