The LMX2581SQX/NOPB is a clock generator and frequency synthesizer, part of a family of Texas Instruments clock generators and frequency synthesizers that have a wide range of application fields. The LMX2581SQX/NOPB is a low-cost and low-power clock generator for a variety of clocking applications including Industrial, Autonomous Transportation, Automotive, Consumer, and Aerospace and Defense.The LMX2581SQX/NOPB is designed to provide a low-cost solution for clocking in high-performance, high-speed applications. This device is ideal for applications that require a wide frequency range, high phase noise, wide bandwidth, and low-power consumption. The LMX2581SQX/NOPB also offers flexibility in output slew rate control, output power management, synchronization, and clock recovery.This clock generator and frequency synthesizer is designed with a patented low-power, low-noise architecture that ensures robust performance, low-jitter and high-sensitivity operation. It contains three programmable PLLs and a digitally controlled frequency synthesizer (DCFS), and provides functions that are compatible with DeskewTM, ModulatedTM, and VoceroTM software-controlled clock generation. The LMX2581SQX/NOPB supports dual 25/50/100MHz reference oscillators for frequency synthesis and has a wide operating temperature range (-40C to +85C).The operating principle of the LMX2581SQX/NOPB is based on the DCFS architecture. The device contains three high-performance PLLs which are controlled by an on-board microprocessor and a set of pins. The DCFS allows the user to configure an extensive list of clock frequencies using a few parameters such as the reference clock, output frequency, and output slew rate. The PLL output frequency is adjusted automatically by controlling the PLL parameters and maintaining a low-power and stable operation. The LMX2581SQX/NOPB offers several advantages, including a wide frequency range from 5 to 400MHz, high phase noise performance that is less than -150dBc at a 1kHz offset, low power consumption of 310mW at 100MHz, and support for multiple clock formats. This device also features flexible clock output options to accommodate various applications, power management options that allow the user to select the output voltage, and the ability to support high-speed applications such as DDR3, DDR4 and LPDDR3 memory.In summary, the LMX2581SQX/NOPB is a low-cost, low-power clock generator and frequency synthesizer designed for high-performance, high-speed applications.
