LMZM23600V3EVM is an off-line, non-isolated DC/DC & AC/DC switch mode power supply (SMPS) Evaluation Board. This board is a ready-made platform designed to save engineers time and money when testing the LMZM23600V3 and Fine Combining Control power supply ICs. The evaluation board is used to evaluate the DC/DC & AC/DC SMPS performance under various conditions.
The LMZM23600V3EVM evaluation board is designed to enable users to easily evaluate the performance of the LMZM23600V3 and Fine Combining Control power supply ICs. It is equipped with both AC and DC inputs and can be used for both non-isolated debugging and testing of the SMPS as well as connected to isolated debugging setups. It includes a 15V DC input connector, a DC/DC and an AC/DC mode selector switch, an AC input connector, a power ground, an enable input, an average current adjust potentiometer, an average current adjust connector, a voltage adjust connector, a power monitor output, an isolator output, and a ground and voltage reference connector.
The LMZM2360V3EVM’s AC/DC input range is 85 – 265 volts at a nominal frequency of 50/60 Hz. The DC voltage range is 12V - 24V. The board is capable of providing a single output 400V, 3A, and has a power rating of 1.2kW. The output ripple voltage specification for this device is 100 mV for 200 kHz switching frequency. The LMZM23600V3EVM is also short circuit and open circuit protected. It features a switching frequency of up to 250 kHz for improved efficiencies.
At its core, the LMZM23600V3EVM is controlled by the LMZM23600V3 control IC, which integrates a high-speed level shifter high-side MOSFET driver, a boost PWM voltage regulator and a low quiescent current loop. This IC is integrated with an adaptive dead-time management circuit that provides a better soft- start and fast transient response. Its switching frequency is self-adjustable so that it can optimize output performance over a wide input voltage range. The LMZM23600V3EVM also uses a low power, high-performance boost PWM voltage regulator with a maximum switching frequency of up to 250kHz and a programmable slope compensation.
The LMZM23600V3EVM also features onboard diagnostic and protection features, including an under voltage lock out (UVLO), over current protection, over voltage and under voltage protection, short circuit protection, over temperature protection and open circuit protection. The evaluation board also provides status LEDs to indicate operating status at a glance.
The LMZM23600V3EVM is an ideal board for evaluating and testing DC/DC & AC/DC SMPS ICs. It provides an excellent hardware platform to evaluate the performance of these ICs under various conditions. The onboard diagnostic and protection features and the easy-to-use control interface makes the LMZM23600V3EVM a very useful board for power engineers.
