The LP2967ITP-2833/NOPB is a 3.3V/1.8V/1.5V Low-Power 800mA Synchronous Step-Down Regulator that is part of Texas Instruments’ (TI) LP2967 series of Low-Power Low-Noise SuperVolt regulators. It is a high-efficiency, adjustable, multiphase voltage regulator with PowerGATE technology (200 mA) and Burst Mode operation that helps reduce idle power consumption and heat. This regulator is designed for high current applications such as notebooks, tablets, and industrial IoT devices. Its small size and high power capability make it well suited for these types of applications. The LP2967ITP-2833/NOPB features low dropout voltage (600 mV at 800 mA), wide input voltage range (2.35V to 5.5V), adjustable output voltage range (0.6V to 3.3V), fast transient response, and excellent line and load transient performance. It also offers power capabilities up to 800mA, excellent output ripple rejection, low output noise and current limit protection. Its low output noise enables it to achieve excellent power-management functionality in noisy environments. Additionally, this product integrates a Power-on Reset (POR), open battery detect, and an available enable pin. The LP2967ITP-2833/NOPB has an advanced protection feature set including: overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection, thermal shutdown, scrolling to a low-power state, and addressable rate limiting. In addition, the device monitors operation status and conveys it over I2C/SMBus for improved system visibility. The LP2967ITP-2833/NOPB also offers enhanced output voltage accuracy over temperature and line. The working principle of the LP2967ITP-2833/NOPB is based on a dual-phase step-down switching scheme. It combines two symmetric 400mA step-down DC/DC converters that are operating in parallel, in order to achieve higher total output current (>800mA) with improved power conversion efficiency and reduced output ripple. The LP2967ITP-2833/NOPB is ideal for applications such as notebook computers, tablets, and industrial IoT devices that require high current and low standby power. It is available in a no-lead SOP-8 package with an exposed thermal pad, which helps to improve thermal performance. It also has an adjustable output voltage (0.6V to 3.3V) and wide input voltage range (2.35V to 5.5V).
