LP2985-29DBVR Application Field and Working Principle

The LP2985-29DBVR is a family of low-dropout (LDO) linear voltage regulators developed by Texas Instruments (TI). It provides very low dropouts and low quiescent current output as well as improved transient response and improved reverse leakage current. Additionally, it supports a wide input voltage range, output voltages of 0.8V to 5.0V, and operating temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C. LP2985-29DBVR Working Principle

The LP2985-29DBVR uses a standard LDO linear regulator architecture consisting of an adjustable voltage reference, an error amplifier, a series pass transistor, and a feedback loop. The voltage reference provides the voltage reference against which the error amplifier compares the output voltage. The error amplifier is then responsible for driving the series pass transistor as its output voltage moves away from the voltage reference.
