Introduction

LP5907SNX-3.3/NOPB is a voltage regulator from Texas Instruments\' family of products designed to control the power supply in different applications. Application Field and Working Principle

LP5907SNX-3.3/NOPB is an LDO, low-dropout linear voltage regulator with an operating input voltage of 3V to 5.5V and an output voltage of 3.3V, respectively. An internal comparator of the voltage regulator constantly and accurately monitors the output voltage. The output is then adjusted dynamically by the PMOS pass transistor and a constant current source based on the precision reference. This process is repeated until the device detects the output voltage is decentralized and stabilized to the desired voltage

Modes of Operation

The LP5907SNX-3.3/NOPB has two operating modes: Active mode and Shutdown mode. In Active mode, the pass transistor is active and the supply voltage and ground pins are connected in parallel, thus allowing the regulated output of 3.3V to be generated. Furthermore, in this mode, a 10µA current is drawn from the input when the device is in standby & shutdown, the device is capable of consuming approximately 100µA maximum. In Shutdown mode, the pass transistor enters a tri-state mode, meaning that the supply and ground pins are no longer connected and a minimum current of 10nA is consumed. The LP5907SNX-3.3/NOPB operates in this mode in order to conserve power, or when it needs to be turned off.
