This “differential temperature” or “thermal expansion” measurement is obtained by using two separate temperature-sensitive transducers. The sensing element of each transducer expands or contracts in response to changes in temperature, which is then converted into a digital output corresponding to the difference in temperature.

By combining the capabilities of both MEMS technologies, the LPS22HDTR is able to measure both atmospheric pressure and temperature quickly and accurately. The device utilizes a digital output format, allowing it to be easily interfaced with existing systems.
