Operation Working Principle
The LT1176CN8#PBF is designed to accept an input voltage from 3V to 40 V, therefore the switching regulators can accurately regulate the output voltage by switch on-off primary side MOSFET. When the feedback voltage increases, reach the regulated voltage, the IN pin will switch off the primary MOSFET. Thereafter, the transformer provides a high degree of isolation between the output and input sides and also steps down the voltage. If the feedback voltage decreases, IN pin will switch on the primary MOSFET. This process will continue as long as the voltage on the FB pin is greater than the regulated voltage.
LT1176CN8#PBF utilizes a high switching frequency of 540 kHz, which allows for much smaller transformer size. The fixed-frequency current-mode control makes the devices very simple to use and gives excellent output voltage regulation.
