The LT1996AIMS#PBF is an op-amp designed for power supply noise immunity and ac performance. Since it is a high-powered op-amp, it is usually used in instrumentation and mobile device applications. LT1996AIMS#PBF offers both a wide supply voltage range (1.8 V to 5.5 V) and a minimum latch-up immunity of 74 µA up to 8 V in-rush current.

LT1996AIMS#PBF typically operates with a low 1 mA maximum quiescent current (53 dB ACPSRR at 2 MHz) and a slew rate of 10V/µs, making it ideal for instrumentation applications. It is also capable of driving loads up to 91 mA peak which makes it suitable for small and battery powered applications which require a high output current.

The LT1996AIMS#PBF works by amplifying the small signals produced by the input circuitry to produce a much larger output. This is accomplished by means of direct-coupled n–type and p–type field-effect transistors (FETs) powered from a split supply.The LT1996AIMS#PBF offers two outputs; one from the internal amplifier and one from the power follower output. The amplifier output is a high-current output, capable of driving heavier loads, and is very useful for buffering signals in applications such as audio circuits. The power follower output, on the other hand, is a low-current output, better suited for driving devices such as logic and LEDs. This allows the user to have both higher current and lower current applications in the same chip.

The LT1996AIMS#PBF also incorporates several features to improve its ac performance. These features include a wide supply voltage range, high slew rate, high CMRR and PSRR, low distortion, and low noise.
