LT3007ITS8-1.8#TRMPBF is a member of Texas Instruments\' Low Dropout, Low Noise High PSRR Micropower Linear Regulator Series which offers an integrated solution for a wide range of applications with high performance levels at a minimum cost. LT3007ITS8-1.8#TRMPBF is a fixed output voltage low dropout linear regulator with a maximum output current of up to 100mA, adjustable output voltage range from 1.235V-9.6V, and quiescent current of only 5uA. It features a superior line and load start up and recovery times of 130uV overshoot and 50uA peak overcurrent limit. The device also includes built-in over-temperature protection and short circuit protection which provides an attractive cost effective solution for many space limited applications.The LT3007ITS8-1.8#TRMPBF can be used in many applications such as automotive, battery-powered circuits, medical equipment, computers, embedded systems, and many other portable and environmental-resistant applications. It is designed to provide a high PSRR, with a low quiescent current, such that it can provide clean power with low output noise, suitable for high sensitivity circuits.LT3007ITS8-1.8#TRMPBF\'s working principle is based on a linear regulation topology. When the input voltage is greater than the preset voltage, the linear regulator will start to drop the input voltage in order to maintain the preset output voltage. This is achieved by having a series arrangement consisting of a shunt regulator and a pass element operating together in ratio. The shunt regulator senses the difference between the input and output voltage, and responds by driving the pass element to operate in the linear region, changing its resistance to drop the excess in input voltage.For LT3007ITS8-1.8#TRMPBF, the drop in input voltage reduces the output voltage to the preset level. In this linear operation range, the output voltage is set by the resistor divider network connected to the feedback pin. To ensure that the output voltage remains constant and accurate, this voltage divider must be designed accordingly. On the other hand, the pass element is a FET, which has its own base current, and in this system under normal operation, this current is fixed. The regulating voltage is achieved through the use of a reference voltage source which provides a reference voltage to both the negative side of the shunt regulator, and the pass element gate.
