Working Principle

The LT3009IDC-5#TRPBF is a three-terminal, adjustable voltage linear regulator. It operates by driving a series pass transistor with a voltage source that is proportional to the output voltage at the output pin. The output voltage is regulated by controlling the input voltage to the pass transistor based on a feedback voltage, which is proportional to the output voltage. The feedback voltage is compared to an internal reference voltage and the difference between them is amplified, which drives the pass transistor. This allows the output voltage to be maintained.
