LT3055EMSE-3.3#PBF, otherwise known as the LT3055MSE-3.3#PBF, is categorized as a PMIC - Voltage Regulator - Linear type. The LT3055MSE-3.3#PBF is used in a variety of applications, such as providing a regulated output voltage for general circuit boards, providing a low drop-out voltage for sensitive battery-powered applications, and providing a low-cost, low-noise solution for powering sensitive analog components. In addition, the LT3055EMSE-3.3#PBF can provide either a positive or negative output voltage with a maximum output voltage of 3.3 volts.The back end of the LT3055EMSE-3.3#PBF consists of an internal dropout circuit made up of a series of transistors, diodes, and resistors. The dropout circuit serves to provide the regulated voltage no matter what the input voltage may be. The input voltage can range from as low as 2.6 Volts up to 6 Volts. The transistors, diodes, and resistors work together to maintain the output voltage at 3.3 Volts. In addition to the dropout circuit, the LT3055EMSE-3.3#PBF is equipped with two current-sensing pins, a low-side current-sensing pin, and a high-side current-sensing pin. These pins provide the ability to monitor current demands, allowing the device to be used in current-sensitive applications such as battery-powered devices. The low-noise characteristics of the LT3055EMSE-3.3#PBF also make it ideal for powering sensitive analog components. The device employs a switching frequency of 1 MHz, plus a minimum noise amplitude of less than 2 mV, making it extremely quiet.
