The LT3517IFE#TRPBF is an internal high-voltage, high-current output lighting driver designed to support up to 5 higher operating voltage strings of LEDs, power switches, and other types of power conversion devices. The LT3517IFE#TRPBF is a high efficiency, low-side switch with a power stage that is designed to operate at high efficiency in a wide range of applications. The LT3517IFE#TRPBF operates over an input voltage range of 2.5V to 12V and delivers a peak output current of up to 36A. It employs an internal switch-mode power conversion technology that enables high efficiency with excellent thermal characteristics and compact form factor. The LT3517IFE#TRPBF is ideally suited for a variety of applications including LED lighting, lighting control, automotive lighting, architectural and decorative lighting, and many other applications in lighting fixtures and systems.The LT3517IFE#TRPBF is a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) capable LED driver. An internal oscillator (optically isolated by a hall effect sensor) generates an adjustable frequency PWM signal to dim the LED load. This PWM signal controls the voltage and current supplied to the LED load. The LT3517IFE#TRPBF also features an adjustable current limitation allowing it to be optimized for energy efficiency or brightness level.The LT3517IFE#TRPBF has several features to protect the circuit, such as active current foldback and temperature shutdown. The active current foldback feature reduces the LED load current automatically in the event of a short circuit or over current event. This provides an additional level of protection for the circuit from potentially damaging overload conditions. The temperature shutdown feature shuts down the device when the junction temperature exceeds 170°C.Additionally, the LT3517IFE#TRPBF comes with a programmable dimming sequence. This feature allows the user to program a dimming sequence into the device, enabling the product to dim the LED load in steps. This feature also allows the user to programmed sleep and wake sequencing which improves battery life and system efficiency.Overall, the LT3517IFE#TRPBF is a highly versatile and efficient power conversion device well suited for a wide range of applications.
