When the overvoltage appears, the GDT center is connected with the inductive common point. The current of GDT is divided into two groups in different directions, and at the same time, the inductive common point of GDT appears low resistance, and then the current deviates from the main circuit to the green cap, until the short-circuiting is formed. As a result, the protection for short-circuiting is completed through those steps.
