The LT8364IDE#PBF is a current-mode, synchronous step-down DC-DC switching regulator that integrates high and low side MOSFETs which is suitable for operation between 4.5 V and 42 V input. The converter features a wide range of adjustable output voltage that can be set from 0.6 V to 35 V. The LT8364 is ideally suited for computing, networking, automotive and industrial applications due to its wide 4.5 V to 42 V input range.

The LT8364IDE#PBF\'s operating principle entails the use of a high side MOSFET that is connected to the input voltage and a low side MOSFET which is connected to the output voltage. Both the high and low side MOSFETs are switched in the same phase which allows the LT8364 to achieve a high efficiency over the entire load range from 1.2 A to 4.5 A and an adjustable switching frequency from 300 kHz up to 4 MHz.

The integrated high side and low side MOSFETs are also equipped with current-mode control and a soft-start feature which allows the start up and load transient phases to be managed more accurately than with a traditional PWM controller. The integrated high side and low side MOSFETs are also capable of operating at up to 100 W power when coupled with an appropriate external inductor.

A number of protection features are included in the LT8364IDE#PBF, including voltage feedforward, input undervoltage lockout (UVLO), output overvoltage protection, adjustable skip mode and hiccup mode for output short circuit protection and thermal shutdown. Furthermore, the LT8364 is available in a thermally-enhanced, 3 mm × 3 mm, 16-pin QFN package as well as a 16-ball, 2 mm × 2 mm WLCSP Package (LT8364IDE#TRMPBF).
